Harness offshore ocean energy

The new ARMSTRONG Downwind V3 board is all about progression

  • MORE GRIP & CONTROL
  • PROVEN CONSTRUCTION – Lighter & Stronger
  • DUAL CARBON STRINGER SYSTEM – Maximum Rigidity
  • FORWARD GEOMETRY FOIL TRACK – Easier paddle up & improved responsiveness

Whether you’re just figuring out downwinding or pushing the limits of carving style in short period skateboard conditions, the Armstrong MKIII Foil board is for you.

The displacement hull design works wonders to increase paddling speed and help you get on foil, with the refined outline keeping things fun once you’re flying.

Available in 5 sizes:

  • 95L 6’11
  • 105L 7’3
  • 115L 7’7
  • 125L 7’11
  • 135L 8’2

Features

  • Displacement hull: Efficient paddling to get on foil easily
  • Mini squash tail: Keeps dimensions compact with a clean release.
  • Flat deck: More foot placement options and increased volume per size.
  • Split foredeck: Sheds water with ease.
  • Vent: Maintains integrity of the board on hot, sunny days.
  • Raised deck wedges and arch bars: Dual central arch bars and rear corner blocks provide
    intuitive foot placement references.
  • New deck grip: Grippy, comfortable, and lightweight.
  • Forward Geometry Foil Track: Our proprietary Forward Geometry foil track increases
responsiveness by placing the foil more centrally and reducing swing weight in turns.
  • Carbon PVC Sandwich construction: Strong and super durable for endless shuttle laps.
  • Dual Carbon Stringer System: Deck to bottom i-beam dual stringers provide maximum
    structural rigidity and durability.
  • Carbon foil tracks: Proprietary carbon fiber foil tracks are keyed directly into the fibers of the
stringers for a fully integrated construction.

GLIDE – Bump catching made easy

The speedy new displacement hull makes getting onto bumps easier than ever. It’s quick and efficient so you can get up to speed without needing perfect peddling technique or heaps of strength.

RESPONSIVENESS – Lay down carves

The V3 outline is shorter and slightly narrow than Armstrong’s prior Downwind board, providing improve manoeuvrability when on the foil. Combined with the Forward Geometry foil tracks that mean you’ll be carving harder and pumping more efficiently.

COMFORT  No sacrifices for performance gains

Despite the reduced dimensions, the V3 remains comfortably stable thanks to it rounded rails and flatter deck with increased standing room. The new rail shape makes the boards roll stability more consistent and comfortable so you don’t find yourself suddenly thrown off balance.

Hover Wing Foil Board Size

Below is a rough guide to help determine Hover Wing Foil board size based on rider weight and skill level. A “beginner” rider is considered as someone with no previous board sport experience.

Keep in mind that additional factors, such as wind conditions, foil, and kite wing size will play an important role in the selection of the right board size.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend erring on the side of a more buoyant board with a volume that matches rider weight (for example, an 80kg rider will need at least an 80L board or larger). Riding a “sinker” will work in locations with steady, strong winds, while floatier boards prove to be a safer choice as they allow the rider to get back to shore even if the wind drops under a foilable limit.
