Bewl Water offers ideal conditions to learn Wing Surfing, Wing Foiling, Parawing, Downwinding, Windsurfing and Dinghy Sailing – for adults and children of all levels and for those looking to take it to the next level, eFoiling lessons are now taught at Bewl Water, at our rider owned Fliteschool. Our experienced and qualified instructors are here to help you progress safely and confidently, whatever your you choose to learn.
We’ve carefully selected this location to provide consistent winds, flat waters and easy access, parking, changing facilities plus camping and cafe – the perfect setting for learning and progressing all levels and just one hour from London.
Whether you’re taking your first steps on the water or refining advanced techniques, our expert instructors offer private or group lessons, all equipment is provided; wetsuit, helmet and buoyancy aid. Our safety boat is on hand to taxi you back upwind when you need it, so you can focus on learning and having fun.

FAQs
Wing surfing uses a standard stand-up (SUP) and inflatable wing to catch the wind underneath and propel you forward! Wing foiling uses a hydrofoil with your board to rise and glide above the water. This is more challenging but great fun!
Both disciplines are taught at Bewl Water in Kent. This is a flat water and non tidal lake with reliable winds. Located at the Boat House, Bewl Water, Bewlbridge Ln, Lamberhurst, Wadhurst TN3 8JH. Get directions

Not at all! We only ask that you are a proficient swimmer. Contact us if you want to discuss your ability with us first. If you are under 18 then contact us to discuss teaching options.
You will need to have the basics in wing surfing before you learn to ride on the foil.
Bewl Water is a one hour drive from central London. Get directions
Nothing at all.
We provide a wetsuit, helmet, sea shoes, buoyancy aid and all the foiling equipment. You are welcome to bring your own if you have it, it’s totally up to you. We recommend you bring some food and water and a towel for after your lesson.
Absolutely! There is a variety of accommodation in and around Bewl Water and Hythe. Please contact us for recommendations.
On site camping is also available at Bewl Water.
When you arrive one of our instructors will run through an introduction. You’ll spend around 20 mins on the shore going over safety aspects and signals, kite or wing mechanics and flying the kite or wing. You’ll then spend the rest of the time in the water.
The group prices already includes a discount which increases with more people.

We plan lessons based on weather forecasts plus our local knowledge of the area. We always confirm the day before your lesson is booked whether or not the conditions are safe.
At Bewl, we are very lucky and rarely need to cancel a lesson but if we do (as mother nature has other plans) we’ll inform you with as much notice as possible and arrange another date/time for your lesson.

Unfortunately we cannot teach anyone under the age of 12 but please feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements.
For boat supported sessions and equipment hire you must be 18 years or above.
