PROGRESS WITHOUT LIMITS – Incredible pitched ability.
The Armstrong MA V2 gives you total control for Winging and Surf Foiling progression. If currently riding the HA Foil the MA V2 will feel more forgiving with its rock solid stability and consistent lift that will boost confidence and ability to tackle powered conditions.
DRAW YOUR LINE – Increased Speed range
At the core of this foil lies the new foil section shape that delivers a massive speed range. It’s evolved to deliver a greatly lowered take-off speed on par with the HA while maintaining a top speed capability similar to the first generation MA. The speed range across sizes makes the MA V2 ready for everything from Winging to Prone to Tow Surfing. Like the original MA, the foil section in the MkII recovers instantly from breaches so the rider can draw their line without hesitation
Dream carving machine – Narrower span for a seamless roll feel.
The narrower span of the mid aspect outline increases carving speed for a given area compared to a high aspect foil, giving the MA V2 a quick, seamless roll rate and super fluid carving feel. All sizes are 8.0 AR oriented at carving at higher speeds with increased pump and glide that’s perfect for surfing. Whether it’s winging or foil surfing, the MA V2 is a dream to lay into a turn.
Top Tier Construction – Performance and durability.
Foils experience extreme torsional and bending loads, which is why we’ve crafted the MA V2 from premium pre-preg Toray high modulus carbon fiber. It results in an ultra-strong, stiff, and lightweight foil that performs exceptionally. When combined with our industry-leading manufacturing quality, the consistency of this material and construction choice makes for the very best in performance and durability.
From Armstrong:
You know foiling has progressed to a pretty neat place when we’re faced with the luxury of choice. With the introduction of our new MA V2 front foils, we’re offering an alternative flavor to the HA’s and a more versatile and user-friendly foil compared to the first generation MA. In our quiver bag, we’re carrying both an HA and MA V2. Stuck deciding which size to get and why? Have a read below.
Coming from HA
If you’ve already got an HA, you might consider adding in an MA V2 for a different vibe based more around carving. Not factoring in stabilizers and other components, your weight, or conditions, here is a general rule of thumb to land you on an MA V2 size:
If you’re looking for the same bottom end, stall speed, and comfort as your HA but increase maneuverability and pitch stability, go up one size in the MA V2. If you’re ok with trading a bit of bottom end and stall speed in order to boost responsiveness and top speed more significantly (like in powered conditions), pick the closest size in the MA V2.
Scenario A
You’re happily on an HA880 and are keen to retain that nice low bottom end, stall speed, and comfort but get a boost in the carving and pitch stability department. Your MA V2 is the 990.
Scenario B
You’ve got that same HA880 but feel ready to take things up a notch with substantially more responsive carving. You’re fine with a slightly higher bottom end, increased stall speed, and reduced comfort. Your MA V2 is the 890.
Coming from MA (gen 1)
If you’ve been riding a first gen MA, you’ll be stoked to know the MA V2 has a broader range of usability with a much-improved bottom end, stall speed, and overall comfort. The V2 retains that incredible carving and great ventilation recovery that made the MA such an awesome foil. Here’s a general rule of thumb to land you on an MA V2 size:
If you’re looking for the same bottom end, stall speed, and comfort as your MA (g1), go down one size in the MA V2. If you’re ok with trading a bit of bottom end and stall speed in order to boost responsiveness and top speed more significantly (like in powered conditions), you can go down two sizes in the MA V2.
Scenario A
You’re happily on an MA1000 and are keen to retain similar bottom end, stall speed, and comfort but get a boost in the carving and pitch stability department. Your MA V2 is the 890.
Scenario B
You’ve got that same MA1000 but feel ready to take things up a notch with substantially more responsive carving. You’re fine with a slightly higher bottom end, increased stall speed, and reduced comfort. Your MA V2 is the 790.
