Hot from Australia, the KONRAD brand is making a huge name for itself in the southern hemisphere and is now available in the UK!

The KONRAD FLYR Alloy foil is an easy to use system that suits beginner to expert. Stiff, strong, light weight, a combination of specialised finishes and high end materials sets a high benchmark in alloy foil tech.

Ideal for surfing, winging and down winding.

The alloy FLYR foil platform uses billet machined aluminium base mount, fuselage and extruded mast. The front wing spigot uses a flat taper free system for holding the wing in place and ease of use in changing wings. This insert style has not changed since the release of the FLYR platform and has proven to be strong and durable.

What’s in the box?

  • ST 1250 Front Wing
  • SS 290 Stabilizer
  • Alloy Fuselage 62cm
  • Alloy Mast 70cm
  • Top Plate
  • Toolkit and hardware
  • Covers and protective bag

Features

Titanium hardware
All screws and even t-nuts are billet machined titanium with Torx heads which cuts down galvanic corrosion and keeps the parts looking good even after years in the salt water.

Tough construction
The foil uses M8 screws for assembly in all the parts that need strength, the stabiliser uses M6.

Packaging
In an effort to reduce waste we have designed reusable gear bags that keep the system protected. The main bag is also adjustable if you decide to add a bigger wing!

Surf Thin Series 1250 Front Wing – Higher medium aspect
High performance, carvy and flat out performance. This wing is like the sports car of the ocean and will get you through sections that you never dreamed possible. This profile is also very efficient and can carry you through fat sections or long pumps.
Low stall speed.

S Series 290 Stabilizer
The S6 stabiliser is a new thin fast profile. It features an all-new built-in mount that is tuned to a sensible lift angle for mid to high-speed use. This mounts to a flat section on the fuselage and has small shim angle options. The material is G10 for a higher tolerance part with less hand finishing needed than a traditional molded part. This allows a stiff and strong stabiliser wing.

Hover Wing Foil Board Size

Below is a rough guide to help determine Hover Wing Foil board size based on rider weight and skill level. A “beginner” rider is considered as someone with no previous board sport experience.

Keep in mind that additional factors, such as wind conditions, foil, and kite wing size will play an important role in the selection of the right board size.

As a rule of thumb, we recommend erring on the side of a more buoyant board with a volume that matches rider weight (for example, an 80kg rider will need at least an 80L board or larger). Riding a “sinker” will work in locations with steady, strong winds, while floatier boards prove to be a safer choice as they allow the rider to get back to shore even if the wind drops under a foilable limit.
